Thirty years ago today, around 19, VHS video cassettes were the norm, not CDs, VCDs and DVDs. Then we bought cassettes of old Gujarati films, Hindi films and religious serials from 'Atlantic Video'. In which Mehndi Rang Lagyo, Akhand Saubhagyavati, Jigar and Ami, there is a complete set of Ramayana and Lovekush made by Ramanand Sagar. By the grace of God all our collections so far have been very well preserved.

By converting the video cassette of the 150-year-old film 'Jigar aane Ami' from the original Surat Gujarati actor Sanjeev Kumar and Kanan Kaushal to DVD, we have made it a global hit for all Gujaratis around the world. This is not our business, we do not expect or expect any financial compensation from it. Let's all get a glimpse of how much hard work and precious time we put behind this work:

It is essential to be virtuous in order to attain absolute peace, success, contentment, true happiness in life. Money is not happiness. The demonic Lakshmi obtained from immorality through corruption only gives pain. If everyone works hard and gives precious time with a complete policy, then Hindustan becomes 'Soneki Chidia' again.

The last production took place before the Japanese company JVC and Funai stopped producing DVD players from video about ten or fifteen years ago, and when it hit the market, we took three new players. Gujarati and Hindi films are two and a half to three hours long. Making a DVD from a video cassette in the best resolution, a DVD can hold only one hour of film. So digitally converted the whole movie into three DVDs. The trio then linked the DVD to the software and took it to a computer, edited it and made an entire movie and then uploaded it. The whole day was spent in this work.

Starting today, we will use a software as a trial for 3K resolution. It takes up to seven days for the film to be transferred to this resolution, with the software scanning and converting each frame of the film. At present the computer is on to make 3K resolution for the song 'Mein To Sole Sajya Shangaar' trial. The five-minute song has a total of 4.5 frames. This song will take over twenty four hours. The result will be placed if it seems satisfactory. This is the first time this software has been used as a trial. આજથી ત્રીસ વર્ષ પહેલા એટલે કે ૧૯૯૨ આજુબાજુ વીએચએસ વીડિયો કેસેટોનો જમાનો હતો, સીડી, વીસીડી અને ડીવીડીનો નહિ. ત્યારે અમે જૂની ગુજરાતી ફિલ્મો, હિન્દી ફિલ્મો અને ધાર્મિક સિરિયલોના સેટની કેસેટો 'એટલાન્ટિક વિડિઓ'માંથી ખરીદ કરેલી. જેમાં મહેંદી રંગ લાગ્યો, અખંડ સૌભાગ્યવતી, જીગર અને અમી, રામાનંદ સાગરે બનાવેલ રામાયણ અને લવકુશના સંપૂર્ણ સેટ છે. ઈશ્વરની અતિ કૃપાથી અમારો બધો સંગ્રહ અત્યાર સુધી ખુબ સારી રીતે સચવાયો છે.  

મૂળ સુરતના ગુજરાતી અભિનેતા સંજીવકુમાર અને કાનન કૌશલની ૧૯૭૦માં આવેલ 'જીગર અને અમી' ફિલ્મની વિડીયો કેસેટમાંથી ડીવીડીમાં રૂપાંતર કરીને અમે એનો ગ્લોબલ ગુલાલ કરવા વિશ્વના ચારે ખૂણે વસતા સૌ ગુજરાતીઓ માટે મૂકી છે. આ અમારો ધંધો નથી, એમાંથી અમને કોઈ નાણાંકીય વળતર નથી કે એની અપેક્ષા પણ નથી. અમે આ કાર્ય પાછળ કેટલી મહેનત અને કેટલો કિંમતી સમય આપ્યો તેની એક ઝલક ઉપર સૌ વિચાર કરે.

જીવનમાં પરમ શાંતિ, સફળતા, સંતોષ, સાચું સુખ પ્રાપ્ત કરવા સદાચારી બનવું અતિ જરૂરી છે. પૈસો સુખ નથી. ભ્રષ્ટાચાર દ્વારા અનીતિથી પ્રાપ્ત કરેલ આસુરી લક્ષ્મી માત્ર દુઃખ આપે છે. દરેક વ્યક્તિ જો સંપૂર્ણ નીતિ રાખીને મહેનત કરે અને કિંમતી સમય આપે તો હિંદુસ્તાન ફરીથી 'સોનેકી ચીડિયા' બને.

જાપાનની જે.વી.સી અને ફુનાઈ કંપનીએ આશરે દસ પંદર વર્ષ અગાઉ વિડીયોમાંથી ડીવીડી બનાવવાના પ્લેયરનું ઉત્પાદન બંધ કર્યું એ પહેલા છેલ્લું ઉત્પાદન કર્યું અને બજારમાં આવ્યું ત્યારે અમે ત્રણ નવા પ્લેયર લઇ લીધા. ગુજરાતી અને હિન્દી ફિલ્મો અઢી થી ત્રણ કલાકની હોય છે. વિડીયો કેસેટમાંથી ડીવીડી શ્રેષ્ઠ રેઝોલ્યૂશનમાં બનાવીયે તો એક ડીવીડીમાં માત્ર એક કલાકની ફિલ્મ સમાય. એટલે ત્રણ ડીવીડીમાં આખી ફિલ્મનું ડિજિટલ રૂપાંતર કર્યું. પછી ત્રણે ડીવીડીને સોફ્ટવેરથી સાંધીને કમ્પ્યુટરમાં લીધી, એડિટ કરીને આખી ફિલ્મ બનાવી પછી અપલોડ કરી. આ કાર્યમાં આખો દિવસ નીકળી ગયો.

આજથી એક સોફ્ટવેર ૪ કે રિઝોલ્યૂશન માટે ટ્રાયલ તરીકે ઉપયોગ કરીયે છીએ. આ ફિલ્મને આ રેઝોલ્યૂશનમાં ટ્રાન્સફર કરતા સાત દિવસનો સમય થાય છે, જેમાં સોફ્ટવેર ફિલ્મની દરેક ફ્રેમને સ્કેન કરીને કન્વર્ટ કરે છે. અત્યારે 'મેં તો સોળે સજ્યા શણગાર' ગીત ટ્રાયલ માટે ૪ કે રિઝોલ્યૂશન બનાવવા કમ્પ્યુટર ચાલુ છે. પાંચ મિનિટના આ ગીતમાં કુલ ૯,૬૭૩ ફ્રેમ છે. આ ગીતને બનતા ચોવીસ કલાક ઉપર સમય લાગશે. પરિણામ સંતોષકારક લાગશે તો મુકવામાં આવશે. પ્રથમ વાર આ સોફ્ટવેરનો ટ્રાયલ તરીકે ઉપયોગ થાય છે.
