Hellaro - Gujarati Superhit Movie Hellaro is a Gujarati film that won the "Best Feature Film" award and "Special Jury" award at the 66th National Film Awards. This is the first time in the history that a Gujarati film has won the Golden Lotus Award. The film will be releasing on 8th November 2019.

Synopsis - During the Emergency in India, a group of suppressed women from a village in Kutch, find someone in the desert and their lives are changed forever. A very strong storyline and great direction by Abhishek Shah, not to mention some brilliant piece of acting by Manjhri (Shraddha Dangar) and Mulji (Jayesh More)! Good folk music and playback singing too.

Even though the movie is about the patriarchal and extremely superstitious mind-set of a remote Kutchh hamlet in 1975 where men deprive women of even a basic right to enjoy what they love like dance or even embroider, little has changed in India in the last 4 decades. Women are still treated as objects owned by men and honour killing as well as domestic violence are highly prevalent.
