Golmaal (1979) by Hrishikesh Mukherjee is one of the finest comedies of all time in Hindi film, and it keeps fans smiling till the very end. Golmaal is one of my favorite comedies of all time since it is clean and doesn't make people laugh with loud faces or silly facial movements. The excellent performance by the entire ensemble, especially Uttpal Dutt and Amol Palekar, makes this film worth watching again and again.

The Golmaal, Naram Garam, and Rang Birangi trilogy can only be described as some of the finest light-hearted comedy ever seen in Hindi film. What is the one thing that these three films have in common? Let me take the words straight out of your mouth, Hrishikesh's unrivaled crew. Hrishi Da has directed Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt several times, each time recreating the enchantment with real-life and recognisable people.

The atmosphere of middle-class society is shown as good as in every Hrishikesh Mukherjee film, and how a regular guy bends himself to acquire a job and make ends meet. Of fact, the difficulties facing middle-class society have been presented realistically in numerous hard-hitting films, but HrishiDa employs his signature manner, which we all adore. His directing and treatment are what set this film apart from the numerous previous comedies based on the "dual-personality" theme. 

The late R D Burman's music for the film is magnificent, and "Aane Wala Pal...Jaanewla Hai" remains one of Kishore Kumar's absolute jewels. The film begins with the title song "Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai," which is really amusing, but it is Gulzaar saab's lyrics that inspire the satire from everyday situations.

Palekar's victory against Amtitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna for the Filmfare Award was a credit to his efforts. It is still regarded as a high point in his career and has been praised by numerous commentators in subsequent years. This was a dual duty with a lot of strain. 

It's an Amol Palekar film from start to finish, with Utpal Dutt as outstanding as ever. It's a film that's worth seeing again and again! Hrishikesh Mukherjee's directing abilities are highlighted in the film. He was a complete filmmaker, delivering tearjerkers like "Anand" and "Mili" as well as solid comedy like "Chupke Chupke", "Guddi", "Khubsoorat" and "Bawarchi". The background soundtrack by Rahul Dev Burman, as well as the four songs, stand out in "Gol Maal," the greatest of which is "Aane Wala Pal Jaane Wala Hai," a lovely homage to Gulzar, who received the best lyricist award for this lingering Kishore Kumar classic.
